If you are thinking of having an adult only wedding be sure you know how to properly plan it

In a modern world where brides and grooms can choose to do whatever they want on their Big Day, it comes without saying that they are also allowed to invite only the people they want as well. Of course, this can also include having an “adult only” wedding too – and there are plenty of reasons that may push you into choosing this type of event.

How do you plan it, though? How do you have a “children free” wedding without offending anyone? We have gathered some of the most important things you should know about this – so read on and find out more.

• First and foremost, do not write “Adult Only” on the invitations. This can hurt your guests’ feeling to the point they won’t attend your wedding anymore. Instead, get the help of your close friends and family to spread the word. Also, if you have a wedding website, feel free to write about it there.
• To make it very clear from the very beginning, address your wedding invitations with “Mr. and Mrs.” – and not with anything that might suggest that the entire family is invited. Also, include your guests’ specific names on the RSVP too. This way, most of your guests will understand that only they are invited.
• If it seems that any of the guests may have misunderstood the meaning of your invitations, do call them and clarify the situation. You don’t need to over-explain yourself (and you most definitely have to hold your grounds and not give up under pressure!). Just tell them that your budget is a bit more restrictive and you cannot have the children invited too.
• Last, but definitely not least, having an adult only wedding doesn’t have to mean you cannot have a Ring Bearer and a Flower Girl. They are part of your wedding party and your guests will most likely understand this.

Take a look at some fun games to consider for your wedding reception

Of course, your wedding will be emotional and romantic. But beyond anything, this should be a happy event, filled with the laughter and joy of everyone you invited. Having games at the wedding reception is a wonderful way of making sure everyone stays happy and entertained – but what are some of the best games for such an event?

We have gathered some suggestions – so read on and find out more.

• The kissing menu. Clinking glasses is a tradition you might not be able to avoid. However, you could replace it by providing your guests with a “kissing menu” (where each item is an activity for you as a couple and it “pays” with another activity – such as a dance with a bridesmaid).
• Icebreaker games. Mad Libs, I Spy and all the other similar games can be adapted to be suitable for a wedding too. They are really fun and they will definitely break the ice among your guests, so that they have the time of their lives throughout the wedding reception.
• Photo booth. Having a photo booth at your wedding is a very fun idea, but if you want to make it even more entertaining, provide your guests with props that bring them together. For example, providing them with a chalkboard and asking them to write their wishes on it can turn into a fun activity for everyone (not to mention it will make for some really nice memories for you as the bride and groom).

Be sure you are aware of how to properly write your wedding “Thank You” notes

Your guests are amazing people – they were there for you on the Big Day, they spent their time choosing and sending you a gift you love and, ultimately, they celebrated with you the emotional moment you went through.

Naturally, you will want to properly thank them for their presence and support. But how do you do that? How do you properly write your wedding “Thank You” notes? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

• Be very well-organized. If you want to make sure you don’t leave anyone out and if you want to be certain you don’t misspell names or addresses, create a list with all the guests and keep it handy. Also, be sure to order the Thank You notes as soon as possible and to jot down what gift you have received from each guest as well (this will be helpful when actually writing the notes).
• Send them as soon as possible. Ideally, you should acknowledge every gift as soon as you receive it. However, most of your guests will understand that the time span before and after the wedding is very busy – so it is acceptable to send it within two weeks. Whatever you do though, don’t leave more than three months to pass before you send the “Thank You” notes.
• Be honest. You don’t have to write too much – four to five sentences should do. However, please keep in mind that the “Thank You” notes should be handwritten and personalized for each guest. After all, they all took the time to come to your wedding, so they deserve an honest “Thank You”.

Be aware of these things you didn’t know you needed on your wedding day!

There are a lot of things needed for a dream wedding. And yet, even with all the planning and the minute attention to detail, there are a lot of brides who forget doing some of the most important things. What are some of the most commonly forgotten wedding to-do’s? We have gathered them right below – so read on and find out more.

• Having breakfast (or brunch). Before you even start getting ready, have a delicious and nutritious brunch with your special ladies. It will give you plenty of energy for the day ahead of you and it will help you (and your bridesmaids) do everything more efficiently.

• Preparing an emergency kit. As mentioned before, even with all the planning ahead, there are things that could go wrong. For these situations, an emergency kit will do the trick. Superglue, duct tape, a sewing kit, deodorant, Band-Aids and Advil can really save the day.

• Preparing a beauty kit as well. Although your makeup artist will most likely provide you with samples of the products she used so that you can freshen up your makeup, it is still a great idea to come prepared. Blotting papers, face powder and lipstick are a must – so be ready to include them in your day-of “luggage”.

• Packing clothes to get ready in. Your “Getting Ready” photo shooting is going to be really intimate and unforgettable – so make sure you are dressed in cute clothes (maybe even choose something to match with your bridesmaids’ “getting ready” outfits).

Take a look at these tips for finding the best destination wedding dress:

Planning a destination wedding tends to be a bit more difficult – but it is definitely doable. Aside from finding reliable vendors and aside from making sure everyone RSVPs, you should also consider the fact that a destination wedding will need a dress that’s suitable for that particular location.

How do you do it, though? How do you choose the perfect destination wedding dress? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

• Do the research. Look at different types of destination wedding dresses and see which of the styles that appeal to you the most.  Don’t feel obliged to wear anything just because wedding etiquette “says so”. In fact, think out of the box and settle on styles that truly reflect who you are as a person. If you want a funkier dress with dashes of color, go for it. But if you want to be the traditional bride, you are definitely free to settle on long, white dresses as well.
• Be wise. Consider the location you are getting married at and choose a style and a fabric that are suitable for it. For example, wearing a silk gown with a huge train may not be a great option if you plan on having a destination wedding.
• Plan carefully. Once you have settled on a dress, make sure you talk to your vendor or retailer about the fact that you are having a destination wedding and that you will need your gown to be ready before you get on that plane.
• Find a bridal salon at your wedding destination to have your gown steamed and press because shipping and handling on your way there might require it to be fresh when you get there.

These striped ideas will create a beautiful theme for your wedding day

Your wedding day should be about you – about you and your fiancé, about your love story and about the magnificent life you will build together. From the food to the music and décor, everything on your wedding day should be beautiful and it should match who you are.

Stripes are a great way to add just a dash of playfulness to your wedding day, without straying away from being stylish and elegant at the same time too. How to incorporate them in your wedding the most beautiful way? We have gathered some inspiring ideas – so read on and find out more.

• Ceremony backdrop. Add just a dash of personality to your wedding ceremony backdrop by covering it in long stripes of fabric in different colors (e.g. your wedding colors, if you want everything to match, or a multitude of other colors if you want to be a bit more playful).
• Naked wedding cake. Naked cakes are very popular these days – and they don’t necessarily have to be covered in fruit and flowers. For a striped naked wedding cake, we suggest you alternate layers of a colored cake (e.g. red velvet) with filling in a different color (white, for example). It will look really pretty!
• Bridesmaids’ dresses. For your special ladies, choose dresses with a striped skirt design. Make sure to keep their entire attire simple, so that the stripes pop out and don’t make everything feel like “too much”.
