Don’t play these inappropriate wedding songs at your wedding!

We cannot emphasize this enough: your wedding music is absolutely crucial for the success of the Big Day. And while it is definitely important to make sure you talk to your DJ about the songs you do want at your wedding, it is also essential that you take into consideration the songs that you don’t want him to play at your wedding. Of course, this “don’t” playlist will include songs you don’t like or that remind you of bad memories – but it should also include songs that are simply inappropriate for weddings.

What are some of these songs? We have some suggestions for you – so read on and find out more.
The Police’s Every Breath You Take. OK, it may have been catchy a few (many) years ago, but these days, this song sounds more like the “stalker’s anthem” than a romantic song. We suggest you take this off your playlist if you want to avoid your guests’ giggles at the sound of this completely inappropriate song.
Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. Anyone who grew up (or was a teenager) in the late 90s knows this song by heart. And while our hearts will always go on with Celine’s masterpiece, the truth is that this is a complete no-no for your wedding day. Why? The story associated with it is simply too sad.
Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. No. Just don’t. This is a break-up song and if you listen to the lyrics carefully, you will hear it. Your wedding should be all about happy moments and big hopes – not “bittersweet memories” as “all you’re taking with you”.
