Be sure to document your wedding proposal so you can always remember the moment!

Few moments in one’s life are as magical as the one you propose to the love of your life. The expectation, the love floating in the air, the huge smile on your fiancé’s face when she see the ring – these are “ingredients” you will never be able to actually forget.

And yet, capturing the moment is a great way to ensure you can “re-visit” it anytime in the future and see all of its astoundingly beautiful details.

What are some of the most important things to know about documenting the wedding proposal? We have gathered them right below – so read on and find out more about this.

Propose to her during the “photo shoot”.  Take her somewhere special (such as where you first met) and ask a passerby to shoot a photo of you. Instead of posing for the camera though, get to one knee and propose. This is a truly genuine way of capturing your loved one’s surprised face and the magic of the moment.
Hire some “paparazzi”. If you want to make sure your wedding proposal is captured in a really professional way, hire some “paparazzi” who will be able to shoot everything in a discrete, yet beautiful way.
Hide a camera. Depending on what type of proposal you might have planned out, giving a camera to a stranger or hiring paparazzi may not be possible. However, if you find a place where you can hide a camera, the entire moment will be nicely captured to be “archived” for the years to come.

Once the big “Yes” has been voiced out, make sure to hire a wedding planner who will help you plan a magnificent wedding with the least amount of stress possible. Contact Wedding Planner 808 for an unforgettable wedding in Hawaii and you will not regret having chosen our amazing services!

Find the best wedding venue based on your personality as a bride!

Wedding planning can be a very intricate process and not being properly organized can cost you a lot in the long run – not only in terms of money, but also in terms of how stressed out you will be. Finding the perfect wedding venue is one of the first and foremost important steps in making sure everything goes as planned – so it is more than important that you give it a good thinking before booking any particular location.

How to do this? How to find the best wedding venue based on your personality? We have gathered some tips to help you with this – so read on to find out more.

Classy and preppy. If you are the kind of feminine bride that genuinely enjoys bows, polka dots and all those timelessly fashionable trends, you will definitely want your venue to be able to accommodate that particular type of décor. Look for a country club, for a vineyard or for a venue with a Southern touch to it and you will be more than happy with your choice!
Bohemian and romantic. You want your wedding to be really unique, delicate and you want it to be truly inspired by the marvels of nature. Splendid landscapes, mountains and unforgettable fields of wildflowers – these are most likely your idea of a great “wedding backdrop”, so a wedding venue located in the Great Outdoors will be more than perfect for you.
Sporty and original. If you are not the kind of bride who follows the “rules” and if you want your wedding to be just as unconventional as you are, make sure your wedding venue speaks about that. In fact, you may not even want a “venue” in the traditional sense of the word. You will be more than happy with your parents’ backyard or, even better, renting your favorite team’s arena for your Big Day. And truth be told, any of these locations could turn into a truly magnificent wedding!

Wedding Planner 808. is an experienced wedding planner in Hawaii – so if you plan on having your wedding in the area and if you are searching for someone who will lend you a helpful hand, we’re here for you. Give us a call and we will ensure every detail of your wedding speaks about your personality and your amazing love story!

Inspire your winter wedding with these truly gorgeous cake ideas!

Your guests may not come to the wedding just for the sake of the cake – but a slice of delicious cake will surely sweeten them up. And if you are planning a winter wedding, your dream cake should complement your wedding theme as well.

How to do that? How to create a stunning winter wedding cake that will amaze guests from all points of view? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on to find out more.

The flavor. Choose wintery flavors for your cake and your guests’ hearts will be instantly conquered. A classic cake with cranberry buttercream frosting, an orange chocolate cake with  dark chocolate filling or a deliciously spiced cake with caramel filling – these are just some of the options at hand.
The color. Match your cake’s colors with your wedding’s colors to make everything look elegant and beautiful. White is an all-time favorite when it comes to winter cakes, but so are deep red, icy blue, champagne, ivory, green and brown.
The flowers. If you want your winter wedding cake to look really delicate and pretty, the flowers you choose for its décor are really important. For instance, you could ask your pastry chef to create beautiful flowers that match your bridal bouquet or ask him/her to paint winter flowers on a white background.
The special elements. To make your cake look even more wintery, choose some seasonal elements to incorporate in it. White snowflakes on a white wedding cake will look very elegant, but so will other winter motifs (such as pinecones, for example). Also, consider whether or not you want to serve your cake with a special side (such as warm chocolate pudding or black walnut ice cream, for example).

Wedding Planner 808 plans the most unforgettable weddings in Hawaii – so if you want to have your Big Day here, you should definitely give us a call. We will make sure all the details of your wedding are flawlessly brought together, so that you can really relax and enjoy the most beautiful day of your life!

Make sure to pick the best centerpieces for your wedding by the season in which you choose to be wed!

Although your wedding centerpieces are just one of the many details you have to handle when planning the Big Day, the truth is that they can be truly important – especially if you want your wedding décor to look amazing.

Even if you don’t want your entire wedding theme to be centered on the season outside, choosing centerpieces that go with it can be a really great idea. How do you do this, though? How do you pick stunning wedding centerpieces that really go with the season in which you choose to be wed?
We have gathered some tips to help you with this – so read on if you want to find out more.

Winter weddings are all about opulence and luxuriousness – so your centerpieces should be like that too. Choose high, opulent-looking candelabras and surround them with deep-red flowers at their base. Embrace everything with a myriad of beautiful candles to make the entire arrangement look candid, romantic and really stylish too.
Spring weddings are full of energy and playfulness, your centerpieces should speak about that too. Choose fresh, seasonal flowers and place them in wire or wooden baskets for a really “untamed” look that’s gorgeous.
Summer weddings are warm, stylish and very exotic. Thus, your centerpieces should embrace these “motifs” too. For a unique centerpiece, create pretty, small containers with flowers in exotic colors and cluster them at the center of the table. They will look so special!
Fall weddings are charming and very romantic and they look absolutely amazing with centerpieces that incorporate seasonal flowers (garden roses, dahlias, gardenias, and so on). Furthermore, non-floral elements (such as berries and/or pinecones) can be beautifully incorporated into a fall wedding centerpiece too.

If you and your hubby-to-be are vegetarians, should you treat your wedding menu the same way?

Being a vegetarian is a wonderful lifestyle choice – especially for those of you who are animal-rights activists. However, is it feasible to have a vegetarian wedding too? How to handle this and make sure everyone is happy with your choices?

We have gathered some of the most important things you should know about planning a vegetarian menu for the Big Day – so read on if you want to find out more.

Yes, it is more than feasible to have a vegetarian wedding. After all, this is your Big Day and it should show who you are as people, what your relationship is all about and what are the values you believe in. So, yes, having a vegetarian wedding is more than OK – and nobody should tell you otherwise.
If you do decide to serve vegetarian dishes at your wedding, make sure that you have your guests in mind. There are a  lot of vegetarian foods even people who are not vegetarian will love – so make sure you choose something you know your guests will love even if they are meat-eaters on a regular basis.
Also, make sure you choose a wedding caterer who can deal with a vegetarian menu for you. And if you have chosen a venue that offers their in-house catering service, make sure they can handle a vegetarian menu too.

Allow your wedding invitation to really stand out by taking a custom route!

Your wedding invitations are so important! Although they may not be part of the Big Day’s décor, they will definitely be essential when it comes to creating the perfect “vibe” for the entire event. In one way or another, your invitations are a small preview for your guests to see how amazing your wedding is going to be.

Taking the custom route when creating the invitations can help you really stand out and make your wedding more unique. How to do this? What are the most important things to know about custom wedding invitations? Read here and find out more:

What is the main concept behind your wedding? This is one of the first things you have to decide on, and not just for the invitations. One you have a very clear idea of what you want your wedding to be like, you can proceed with the next step in creating the perfect wedding invitations.
How far do you want to take the customization? Do you want every single details of your wedding invitations to be unique? If so, keep in mind that you will most likely have to search for a team of professionals who can help you with this (and it may have to include a calligrapher as well).
Do you know what you need to tell your designer? If you have already decided on a designer for your invitations (which, of course, should be done very carefully), you should know very well what to ask of him/her. The main colors, the motif, the deadline – all these details have to be very clear for you, so that you can talk to your wedding stationery designer about them.

Serve your wedding cocktails in a creative fun way on your big day!

Your cocktail hour is a great way to help the guests get in the “party mood” while you “sneak out” to shoot some wedding photos. However, keep in mind that all of your guests should be really well entertained during this hour – so serving your cocktails in a fun way is a truly great idea.

How to do this? How to make your wedding cocktail hour unique and fun? We have gathered some of the best ideas out there – so read on if you need to steal a bit of inspiration.

Barrel kegs. Planning a rustic wedding? Aside from the more “traditional” drinks, you could also serve beer in barrel kegs as well. Not only will your guests find this really fun, but they will also appreciate how you made the entire cocktail hour fit into the entire wedding theme.
Lemonade stand. If you plan on having a non-alcoholic wedding or if you simply want to provide your guests with a non-alcoholic version for the cocktail hour, organize an old-school lemonade stand. It will be absolutely adorable and everyone will love it!
A bar cart. Add a touch of playfulness to the entire wedding and to your cocktail hour by bringing in a bar cart. It can be rustic-themed or not and it can be “fueled” with just about any type of drink that can be bottled (be it alcoholic or not). To make your rolling cart more “festive”, decorate it with a beautiful vase of flowers similar to those you will use for the wedding ceremony and/or wedding reception.

Wedding Planner 808 has years of experience in planning unforgettable wedding – so if you want to set your Big Day in Hawaii, do not hesitate to contact us! We will make sure all the details of your wedding day are flawlessly handled!

Wedding disasters aren’t expected to happen, make sure you are prepared!

Planning a wedding is very frequently perceived like a rollercoaster of emotions. Every detail has to perfectly blend into all the other parts of the wedding. Every flower needs to be perfect. The cake has to taste delicious. The dress must look flawless.

And yet, no matter how much you plan, there are wedding disasters that can catch you unprepared. And while all the other parts of the wedding planning are important, it is really crucial that you are ready for unexpected situations too.

Here are some of the ones you should definitely keep in mind:

Kids go rambunctious. If you plan on having children at your reception, you should also expect them to go at least a bit crazy at some point during the night. The best way to handle the unlimited energy of kids is to give them something to do. Hire a magician or an entertainer, allow a baby sitter to take care of them, leave the children with crayons and coloring books – these are just some of the solutions you can find to this type of problem.
Guests go missing. If you don’t plan on having the ceremony and the reception at the same location, you might want to include directions at the end of the wedding programs. Sure, you may have done this when you sent the wedding invitations, but chances are most of your guests haven’t brought their maps and directions with them.
Weather goes crazy. Of all the wedding nightmares a bride may have, this is by far one of the most awful ones. While you may not be able to control weather, you can do everything in your means to prevent it from ruining your Big Day. Have a plan B (including a tent, means to keep the tent warm and clean, and so on) and make sure you take everything with a big smile on your face. Rainy day wedding photos can look gorgeous, especially with a pair of transparent umbrellas to accessorize you!

If you need a wedding planner to help you plan for all these unexpected situations (and any other that may appear), contact Wedding Planner 808. We will make sure your wedding is perfect from A to Z – and that both you and your guests will find it absolutely unforgettable!

Winter wedding menu trends you will love for your big day

December is here – and if you are among the brides and grooms who think winter is the most fabulous season for a wedding, you are most likely getting ready for the big day. To help you serve the most delicious foods for your wedding, we have gathered some amazing suggestions right below – so read on, find out more and inspire yourself:

Comfort foods for the cocktail hour. With the weather outside, your guests will definitely love to indulge in some classic comfort food bites. Serve mini-portions of mac and cheese, forks with spaghetti and meatballs or grilled cheese mini sandwiches with hot tomato soup shots. These foods are guaranteed to make everyone happy!
Cream soups. To warm up your guests from the very first meal, serve them some deliciously hearty cream soups as a first course. Butternut squash with croutons and potato with cheddar soups are very popular during the winter season – so don’t forget to consider them when choosing your winter menu.
Sweet treats. If you want to sweeten up your guests, arrange a self-serving candy bar with the most delicious sweet winter treats. Chocolate-covered cranberries, pretzels with white topping, white M&Ms, chocolate cheesecake lollipops and mini-pies are very much appreciated, so you should definitely consider them for your candy bar. Also, don’t forget to provide your guests the option to take home some of these goodies (which can also double as a wedding favor). Offer them small customized bags or Chinese takeout boxes and some tools to scoop out the candy – and we guarantee they will be more than happy.

3 things you shouldn’t be wearing as a wedding guest

Being a wedding guest is, indeed, a joy and an honor. However informal a wedding may be though, there are things a wedding guest should never do – such as wearing certain types of clothes, for example. What are the things you should never, ever wear as a wedding guest? Read here and find out more.

· Anything that’s not according to the dress code. If you don’t know exactly what a dress code involves, make sure you do your homework – the Internet is full of tips and tricks. Thus, you will not be caught unprepared by dressing too casual to a black tie event (or by dressing too fancy to a very casual event).

· Certain colors. This may be obvious, but wearing white at a wedding is a complete no-no (unless you know for sure the bride is not going to wear a white wedding dress). Also, make sure you avoid any kind of color that may be too close to white (such as cream or ivory, for example) and make sure to avoid wearing the same color (or anything close) as the bridesmaids too.

· Clothes that are too flashy. This is the bride and groom’s big moment and you really don’t want to draw all the eyes on you. Skirts that are too short, heels that are too high, necklines that are too deep and fabrics that are too glittery should be left at home, in the closet. A wedding is not the moment to show off, regardless of what’s your relation to the couple.

If your friends or relatives are getting married and if they are searching for an expert wedding planner in Hawaii, make sure to tell them about Wedding Planner 808. With our planning services on their side, their wedding will be absolutely fabulous!

If you want to honor a lost loved one at your wedding, here are some tips to inspire you:

Weddings are full of emotion, grace and beauty. And however happy you may be for tying the knot with the one you love, there may still be people you wish could have been there for you on this important day of your life.

If you are thinking of honoring a lost loved one at your wedding, you should definitely do it! Following, we have gathered some ideas to inspire you when it comes to this – so read on and find out more.

· Wear a heirloom. It may be a brooch, a ring or a necklace – if you have something from your lost one, you should definitely bring it with you on your wedding day. Even more, you don’t have to wear it in a “traditional” way – you can also include it in your bouquet or you can have it sown unto your dress as well.

· Dedicate them a song. If your lost loved one used to have a favorite song, dedicate it to him/her by using the same song for a special moment at your wedding. You can use it as you walk down the aisle, as you cut the cake or as you leave the wedding, for example.

Be considerate of your bridesmaids’ expenses. Here are some tips to help them save money:

Weddings are expensive – and not just for the bride and groom, but for the wedding party too. How to make sure your bridesmaids will actually be able to afford being there for you on this important day of your life? We have gathered some useful tips to help them save money – so read on if you want to find out more.

· Avoid paying for the expenses of one bridesmaid and not paying for all of them. If the others find out, they may feel offended and this may cause a huge fight among all of you. It’s better to find ways that will help all of them save money.

· For example, the bachelorette party is frequently one of the most expensive wedding-related costs bridesmaids have to handle. Make sure you talk to your Maid of Honor and that you tell her about the fact that you don’t want anything excessively expensive. This way, she will be able to plan a bachelorette party that’s both unforgettable and affordable for the other bridesmaids too.

· Also, the bridesmaids dresses are frequently quite costly – especially since most of the times they are only worn once. To avoid making your bridesmaids pay a lot for their dresses, simply give them some guidelines (such as a range of colors from which they can choose). This way, they will pick dresses that are affordable for their budgets, they will look wonderful in the pictures and they will even be able to wear the dresses on other occasions too.

Wedding Planner 808 provides Hawaii brides with exquisite wedding planning services meant to suit all needs. Come visit us, take a look at our wedding planning packages and we will make sure your Big Day is truly unforgettable!

Save-the-Date cards are really important! Here are 3 wedding etiquette rules you should really know about them:

Save-the-Date cards are extremely important because they will let your guests know of your wedding date so that they don’t make other plans for the Big Day. If you want to make sure you follow the rules of etiquette when it comes to these cards, read on and find out more:

· Ideally, you should send your guests the Save-the-Date cards as soon as possible (4-6 months before the wedding is preferable). This will give people plenty of time to take the necessary days off and to plan their trip to your wedding.

· Keep in mind that you don’t have to include RSVPs with your Save-the-Date cards. Sure, including them will give you a better idea of your head count, but the truth is that it is highly unlikely that everyone will actually send the RSVPs back. It’s probably better to include them with the actual wedding invitations.

· Same as with the invitations, you should never include registry information on your Save-the-Dates. This is considered to be rather rude because most people will read it as a sign that you are expecting them to offer gifts. Sure, they will all want to know where you are registered – but the invitations and Save-the-Date cards are not the place to do it. It’s recommended that you offer your registry information via your Maid-of-Honor/mothers or on your wedding website.

· Last, but definitely not least, your Save-the-Date cards don’t have to be actual cards. In fact, anything from magnets to personalized candy bars will work just fine (and it will actually be more unique and interesting for your guests).

If you need help with your wedding planning details, don’t hesitate to contact Wedding Planner 808. With our experience and devotion to perfection, your wedding will turn out unforgettable from every single point of view!

Fruit can add a beautiful accent to your wedding!

Delicious and full of color, fruit can actually add a beautiful accent to your wedding. How to include summer’s most delicious fruit into your wedding though? We have gathered some of the very best ideas out there – so make sure to read on if you need some inspiration:

· Table décor. Use fruit to create beautiful edible arrangements for your wedding tables. There are so many combinations you can use that the hardest part of this will be settling on a particular type of “fruity” arrangement! Furthermore, keep in mind that you can include fruit in “non-edible” table centerpieces too. For instance, pomegranate halves will look really good when combined with flowers, dusty miller and other types of greenery and they will add a very “summer-y” appeal to every wedding table.

· Boutonnieres. Who said you cannot wear fruit as well? Turn your wedding boutonnieres in true homages brought to Summer by including berries in them. This is a really nice way of adding uniqueness to the groom and groomsmen’s look.

· The cake. Use fruit to decorate your cake and it will look stunning. From irresistible buttercream cakes decorated with figs and strawberries to naked cakes decorated with berries and flowers, there’s a huge range of options you can choose from, so that your cake truly represents who you are as a couple.

· Place cards. Use apples or peaches for the place card holders and your guests will absolutely love the idea. This works especially well with an outdoor wedding and even more so if you want your entire décor to be inspired by the natural landscape surrounding you.

You have planned your seating chart carefully. But where do YOU sit at your wedding? Here are some tips to help you decide

Planning the wedding seating chart is one of the most difficult tasks you will engage in as a bride-to-be. And while planning where everyone sits at the reception (and ceremony) is important, don’t forget to decide where you and your spouse sit as well! Here are some tips to help you take this decision:

· The special, sweethearts table. If you want to have a more intimate reception dinner with your now-spouse, arrange a separate table just for the two of you. The table can be mingled with the other guests’ tables or it can be placed in a completely separate spot in the venue.

· The head table. Although this is a more “traditional” way to seat the bride and groom at a wedding, many couples still choose it. And there’s a very good reason for it: being seated at the head table means that you will be close to your wedding party – which can be extremely important if you have a very close relationship with them.

· Family-style. Considering how popular rustic/chic and family-style wedding dinners have been in the past few years, it is understandable why many couples choose this as their seating as well. Being seated at a family-style table will help you create a cozy, warm atmosphere, which works extremely well if you want to have a more informal wedding.

Wedding Planner 808 can help you plan the perfect wedding regardless of how formal or informal you want it to be. Take a look at our wedding planning packages, give us a call and allow us to plan the perfect wedding for you and your fiancé! You will definitely love every single second of it!

Searching for the perfect wedding rentals? Here are 4 things to keep in mind

There’s no doubt over the fact that planning a wedding can be quite exhausting even when you do have plenty of money to fuel your ideas. What happens when your budget is more restrictive though?
We have gathered some of the best tips to help you save money on your wedding rentals – so read on if you want to find out more.

· Double the function of your chairs. Pick chairs you can use both for the ceremony and for the reception. This way, you can cut down on your chair rental costs by half – which will add up to your savings, for sure.

· Splurge on items that really matter. Keep your table linens very simple (they will be covered in a lot of items anyway) and splurge on those items that truly give your guests a sense of luxury and high-quality – such as the napkins, for example. Also, keep your glassware simple as well – you don’t want to make your table look too crowded anyway, do you?

· Try to rent all of the items from one place only. This way, you will not have to pay for the delivery in multiple places and you may even be able to nail a discount as well. Plus, it all means you will not have to spend a lot of time on your wedding rentals and it also means that you will lower the amount of stress associated with wedding planning too.

Want a perfect wedding without all the fuss that comes with it? Contact Wedding Planner 808! Not only will we help you plan the perfect wedding in a stress-free way, but we will also make sure you stick to your budget too! Call us today and let’s have a talk!

3 free things you will love to have at your wedding

It is already a well-known fact that weddings can cost a lot of money. However, that doesn’t mean that everything that’s wedding-related will be extremely expensive. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of completely free things you will surely love to have at your wedding. Here are some of our favorite ones:

·Use your bike to make a great getaway. While your wedding reception is definitely important, how you get away from it should be truly memorable too. The good news is that you don’t have to rent a limousine to achieve this effect. Actually, getting away on your bike(s) or motorcycle will be really unique and it will mark an unforgettable moment for everyone present at your wedding.

· Food as centerpieces. Of course, your wedding food will not be actually free – but if you talk to your caterer and ask him/her to arrange it in a beautiful way, it can definitely double as table centerpieces too. This way, you get your centerpieces for free and you delight your guests with amazing looking (and delicious-tasting) foods (such as cheese and fruit arrangements, for example).

· Borrow from friends and bring from your own home. There’s a huge range of wedding-related items you can borrow from friends or bring from home. From flower vases to Mason Jars and from table linens to cute signs, there are a lot of items you really don’t have to pay for if you don’t want to. Use your creativity and you’ll definitely come up with some creative ideas!

In search of a wedding planner to help you keep your budget (and your stress levels) under control? Contact Wedding Planner 808! We are known to plan the most beautiful and unforgettable weddings in Hawaii – so you can definitely trust us with your Big Day too!

What is better? A wedding DJ or a wedding band? Here are some tips to help you decide

Choosing the best music for your Big Day is really important for every bride and groom-to-be. And one of the first decisions you have to make is whether you will settle on a wedding band or on a wedding DJ. Which one is best for you, though? How to make the final call? Here are some tips to help you decide:

· In general, wedding bands are considered to be more unique. They can really help you create an unforgettable atmosphere at your wedding, precisely because their performance is live. Plus, you’ve got a wide range of options when it comes to bands, so you can book one that truly suits your style and your wedding theme.

· At the same time though, a wedding band is much more likely to cost you more than a wedding DJ. If you are running on a tight budget, but still want a band at your wedding, see if you cannot negotiate with them. The number of members in a band, as well as how long they play at your wedding can both influence the final price. Last, but definitely not least, take into consideration the option of hiring a beginner band – some of them sound truly amazing and they can really put up a show for your wedding even if you are on a tighter budget.

· Hiring a wedding DJ is a great idea if you want to mix the music styles at your wedding. As long as you hire the right person, you can expect him/her to really entertain the crowd and spin music that’s to everyone’s liking. Plus, a wedding DJ will most probably be the least expensive option too.

· In the end, the decision pertains to you and your future spouse. Take all aspects into consideration and settle on the option that truly suits you, your wedding style and your love story!

And if you need help with your wedding planning, do not hesitate to contact Wedding Planner 808. We are known to plan the best and most beautiful weddings in Hawaii – so if you want your Big Day to be unforgettable, book us and we’ll make sure everything is flawless!

Want to make your wedding invitations 100% unique? Here are some tips to help you with this:

Your wedding invitations are the first wedding-related items your guests will come in contact with. Naturally, you want them to be beautiful and full of personality – just as your wedding will be too. How to make sure your invitations (and wedding stationery) are truly unique? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

· Don’t go to battle without your weapons. That is, don’t even start searching for a designer before you have gathered at least a few sources of inspiration. Use Pinterest and other sites to put your ideas together and select a handful few you really like. Then, start searching for an excellent designer who will be able to bring your ideas to “life”.

· Make sure you don’t rush. There are a lot of wedding invitation designers out there – and a lot of them are actually talented and amazing at what they do. However, don’t rush into booking anyone until you have seen a portfolio and until you are sure that their style is compatible with what you are searching for.

· Have a plan in mind. Once you have hired your designer, talk to him/her about her working process. Some designers like to take their time in finding the best paper, the most beautiful fonts and in handcrafting the most unique designs – so if you want your invitations to truly stand out, you might have to wait a bit until everything is ready. Make sure you are prepared to add this to your wedding planning timeline!

· Don’t be afraid to be unique – not in the way the invitations are designed and not in the tone and voice of invitations either. It’s really important that you allow your personality and love story shine through the paper and WOW the guests with how original your ideas are.

Wedding Planner 808 is here to help you plan the wedding of your dreams! Just give us a call and allow us to take care of the wedding planning details – you will not regret having chosen us for this big task!

Create some portable foods for your wedding cocktail hour!

If you plan on having a cocktail hour at your wedding, serve your guests with some delicious portable foods to bring them in the “mood” for the big party. Here are some really great ideas to inspire your cocktail hour menu:

Dessert shooters. Provide your guests with mini-desserts for their sweet tooth and they will surely love them. There are a lot of options when it comes to this, from lemonade sorbets to tiramisu served in martini glasses, so you will definitely find something to really suit your (and your guests’) tastes.
Soup shooters. Serve your guests with delicious cream soup shooters and they’ll have a really healthy snack during your cocktail hour. If you want to add some “comfort food” to the mix, combine tomato soup shooters with mini-grilled cheese sandwiches. They will be really appreciated!
Edible utensils. Small spoons made out of bread dough make for the perfect passed appetizers, especially if you want something unique. Fill them with tasty combinations such as cheese, thin slices of olives and prosciutto and they will be a true success.
Chocolate and donuts. Who said donuts are not “proper” for  a wedding? Serve them in ice cream coups with a luxurious chocolate sauce and there’s absolutely no way in the world your guests will be able to resist these fantastic treats. Elegant, comforting and more than affordable, this is the perfect snack for your cocktail hour!

Are you going to preserve your wedding cake top tier?

Your wedding day will be unforgettable – and yet, you will still want to keep some “souvenirs” from the day you tied the knot with the person you love. Some brides choose to preserve their dresses, others simply decorate their homes with their wedding décor. And other brides are more interested in preserving the top tier of their wedding cake. If you want this too, here are some things you should keep in mind:

You should start by removing all the cake décor (such as the sugar flowers and the cake topper). Further on, you should freeze the cake as it is so that it hardens and only then start wrapping it in plastic foil. Once you have done with this, make sure to mark the cake with a ribbon from your wedding, so that you don’t mistake it with anything else.
It is very important that you know how long your cake will last in the freezer (especially if you want to cut a slice of it for your first anniversary, as many couples do). In general, chocolate, hazelnut, almond and carrot cakes have a longer shelf life than white cakes, fruity cakes and cakes that have whipped cream fillings.
If you really want a slice of your wedding cake on your first anniversary, you could order a “copycat” cake that imitates the original one. This way, you will have a fresh, delicious cake that tastes and looks exactly the same as the one you had on your wedding day.

Wedding Planner 808 is an experienced wedding planning services that can help you plan the Big Day in a flawless and hassle-free way. Contact us and find out more about our packages, about how we work and how you can hire us so that your wedding is absolutely perfect!

Cute dishes. The dishes you use for your dessert bar can have a huge influence on how everything will look. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and go for unusual and great-looking dishes.

Create beautifully elegant Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids speeches to please the guests!

Being a Maid of Honor or a Bridesmaid is a truly great honor for everyone out there. However, please be aware of the fact that this comes with certain responsibilities too – such as giving a beautiful, elegant speech at the wedding, for example. How to do this? How to create a speech that will be memorable, sweet and heart-warming? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

Short and sweet. Don’t exaggerate with the length of your speech. Everyone knows that you are one of the bride’s best friends (so there’s a lot you would like to tell her on this special moment of her life). However, keeping the speech under 5 minutes is the best option if you want to make sure nobody gets bored.
You can be funny. Sometimes, Maids of Honor and Bridesmaids feel that they cannot be humorous with their speeches because this is the “Best Man’s job”. However, that’s not true. You can add a bit of humor to your speech too – and the other guests will definitely love it!
Don’t forget about the basics. There are certain “basics” all wedding toasts have to include: expressing how happy you are for the couple, including a personal note (make sure you don’t get too sentimental!) and wishing the couple all the amazing things in the world.
Don’t procrastinate. Start writing the speech as early as possible and make sure you give it some thought. Also, practice does make perfect so give yourself some time to do this too!

If your best friend needs help with the wedding planner, suggest her to contact Wedding Planner 808. We have a lot of experience for planning beautiful weddings – but even more than that, we are genuinely passionate about making couples’ dream weddings come true!

Know how to be the best wedding guest by following this simple etiquette!

Being a wedding guest is a great honor. After all, the couple wants you to be part of one of the most special moments in their lives. Therefore, you will definitely want to be the best wedding guests so that the bride and groom are happy with how their wedding turned out.

What are some of the most important rules of etiquette when it comes to wedding guests, though? Read on and find out more.

Send your RSVPs. And do it in time. The bride actually does need these because she needs to give a number to her caterers and to her other vendors. Most likely, she has made it very easy for you to send back the RSVP so there’s really no reason not to do it.
Choose the right clothes. Make sure you are informed as to how formal or informal this wedding is going to be. Also, don’t go over-the-top and avoid wearing the same type of clothes/colors as the wedding party.
Make conversation with the couple – but remind yourself to keep it short and sweet. They have to talk to everyone at the wedding and this doesn’t give them a lot of time so keeping your conversations short will be more than appreciated.
Follow the rules the couple establish. If they ask you not to post any photos on the Social Media before the wedding is over or if they ask you not to shoot photos when the photographer is already doing this, follow their rules because it will make them happy.

If you know your friends need help with the wedding planning and haven’t found the right person for this just yet, recommend them to check out Wedding Planner 808. Our experience and passion for weddings will definitely help them the wedding their love story deserves!

How to accessorize your wedding dress

Picking a beautiful wedding dress is important for every bride – but it’s equally important that you accessorize it right too. How to do this? We have gathered some of the very best wedding dress accessorizing tips out there – so do make sure to read on if you want to find out more.
It’s not just about the earrings and necklace. Accessorizing a wedding gown can go way beyond that, actually. For instance, a wedding dress belt or sash could make you truly shine and it could emphasize your beautiful womanly curves as well.

Take the neckline into consideration. If you want to pick the perfect necklace and earrings for your wedding look, make sure to keep the shape of the neckline in mind. For example, a V-neck will look fabulous with a choker or with a pendant, while a strapless dress might look better without any kind of necklace, but with a pair of chandelier earrings.
Choose the right veil. Both the design of your dress and how tall you are will dictate the length of the veil. For example, if you are petite, you might want to avoid wearing a fingertip or elbow-length veil because it will create the illusion that you are shorter than you actually are. At the same time, a dramatic floor-length veil may make for a much better choice if you are not very tall.
Don’t forget to match the metals. Matching the metals with the color of the dress is an absolute “must” even if you are not fully aware of this. For instance, ivory and cream-colored dresses look best with yellow gold, while a very white dress will look more than beautiful with silver, pearls and/or platinum.

Need extra-help with the wedding planning? Wedding Planner 808 is here for you! Come visit our website, take a look at our packages and book us for the Big Day! We’ll make sure everything turns out absolutely perfect!

Don’t miss out on choosing one of the hottest wedding themes of 2015!

2015 is almost halfway through – and this means that the wedding trends for the year have already established themselves. What are the hottest wedding themes of 2015? Read on, find out more and inspire yourself:

Starry night. There’s nothing more romantic than a starry summer night – so why wouldn’t you bring this into your wedding too? Centered on dark blue colors and beautiful lights, this theme is a fairy tale come true for any couple out there!
Great Gatsby. Sure, this theme may have been popular last year too – but the truth is that brides and grooms cannot tear themselves from this theme. Opulent, elegant and absolutely unforgettable, such a wedding can be a great choice.
Rustic chic. Same as Great Gatsby, this theme has been around for quite some time now – but we still love it (and a lot). Graceful, natural and simplistic, a rustic chic wedding is the kind of wedding where all guests, regardless of who they are and where they come from, will feel absolutely great.
Secret garden. Romantic, full of grace and flowers, a “Secret garden” theme would be great for those of you who really love pastels, greys, silvers and whites. Somewhere in between extremely luxurious and vintage, this kind of theme can conquer your guests’ hearts in an instant.
Modern. If you want a contemporary wedding, this year is perfect for it. Simplistic elegance, small weddings and “not going over-the-top” are some of the main characteristics of the modern-themed weddings.

If you want a professional wedding planner to be by your side throughout the wedding planner process, call Wedding Planner 808. Our experience,  our passion for unforgettable weddings and for romantic love stories and our know-how will definitely come in helpful!
